Child Dedication is a short ceremony at the beginning of our Sunday morning service in which a child is dedicated to the Lord and prayed over. This is an opportunity to join the Orchard Hills community in celebrating your child's life and joyfully thanking God for this addition to your family.
Our hope is that through our child dedication service, you will establish a commitment to raising your child to have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and to partner with Orchard Hills in this endeavor. It's a beautiful moment where you publicly declare your intention to nurture your child's faith and invite our congregation to walk alongside you in that sacred responsibility.
If you've not participated before, there is a required informational meeting on October 25, between services. During this meeting, you'll learn more about what Child Dedication means, what to expect during the ceremony, and how we as a church can support you in raising your child to know and love Jesus.
Child Dedication is rooted in the biblical practice of bringing children before the Lord in prayer and dedication. As parents, you have the privilege and responsibility of being your child's primary spiritual influence, and we at Orchard Hills are honored to come alongside you.
Whether this is your first child or you're adding to your growing family, we would love to celebrate with you. RSVP or learn more about Child Dedication and how to get involved.
