Linda Loope

Linda L 100x150
Linda Loope, Administrative Assistant

Hometown: Salem, VA

Family: I was married to Jimmy Loope, who passed away in 2007, for 37 years. I have two children. My daughter Laurie and her husband Chris Miller live in Woodbridge, VA. My son Jeffrey and his wife Amber Loope live in SW Roanoke. My constant companion is my Shar-pei dog Riley.

Education: Graduated from Northside High School

Background: After graduating from high school, I worked in the banking field for 6 years and left to raise my family as a stay-at-home mom for 15 years. I then worked for Roanoke City Schools as an Aide and then as a Secretary for 10 years. Then I worked for RBX Corporation in the Marketing Department for 6 years. After a couple of short term positions, God sent me to Orchard Hills when the church began. I am a member of Bonsack Baptist Church, where I sing in the Adult Choir and work in the Nursery.

My passion for Orchard Hills: To see it grow and become all that God would have it to be. To watch its people grow and mature in the Lord as the church grows and expands its ministry. To be able to be a friendly face to people as they come into the church and be as helpful and knowledgeable as possible about Orchard Hills and what we are about. Oh, how I love this church!

Favorite illustration of a biblical truth: My favorite Bible verse is Jeremiah 29: 11 "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." I remind myself daily of this verse because he does have a plan for each of our lives and as I have learned in the last few years, we have to be open to listen as he unfolds each part of the plan and know that no matter what, he only wants what is best for each of us.
