In A Charlie Brown Christmas, Charlie asked a simple yet profound question, “Isn’t there anyone who knows what Christmas is all about?” That was 1965 and the question still resonates today. Why not take a minute and consider that question as you listen to When Heaven Comes to Earth.

The Christmas Story has become so commonplace and ‘done’. But when was the last time you stopped to consider what was happening beyond the immediate storyboard? Listen and learn about Herod the NOT so Great and see if you don’t gain a fresh perspective.

Would you say that you grew up in a dysfunctional family? Have you ever wondered what causes this? Could there be an age old answer that is hidden in plain sight within the Bible? Why not listen and see what you find?

Our culture tells us that if you aren’t married then something must be wrong with you. But what about what the Apostle Paul says when he calls singleness ‘a gift’? Could that be true? Can joy be found in being single?

We all dream of one day being married. I doubt those dreams include taking our spouse for granted or being unfaithful to our spouse and getting a divorce, yet for so many of us that is what happens. Maybe God has a better way? Why not listen and see.

In a world of i-pads, i-phones and i-pods the focus seems to be on self to the detriment of community. God has created and called us to something much greater than ourselves. Why not consider how God intended for us to relate to one another in community?

Everybody seems to be talking about sex. There is probably nothing that intrigues us more than sex and sexuality. With many different messages bombarding us through the media and society is there clarity to be found on what is right and pure? Perhaps the creator of SEX has something to say about that.

God wants to be more than enough for us - if we'll let Him.

Would busy be a word you would use to describe your life? Is there just not enough time in the day to accomplish everything? Could you use some rest? Then take a fresh look at God’s rest and consider entering into it.

Under what or who’s authority do you live? Do you believe the Bible to be God’s Word and our standard or does your own reason take precedence? Why not take an honest look at what the Bible claims and see if it impacts what you believe and how you act.

It's normal to think of Jesus as a teacher or a significant historical figure...even as a mystical guru. But is that all He was? Jesus claimed to be more than that. He claimed to be the Way, the Truth, and the Life. In Church circles, we celebrate this as a point of doctrine. But is He our Way, our Truth, our Life? Because living like we really believe that would be...WEiRD!

Do you find "fitting in" to be important? Do you desire to be like everyone else for fear of being called "weird"? Is "normal" really working? Maybe it’s time for a new kind of NORMAL!

Have you ever felt that you are living in a battle zone? Does Jesus’ promise of life to the full or life in abundance seem ever elusive? Maybe it is time to consider that we really do have an enemy and his desire is to thwart the mission of Jesus by stealing and killing and destroying all that we hold dear, even our very lives.

It is easy today to simply settle for the things of this world.  We must always remember to not settle for the gifts from God, but instead seek out God, the eternal Giver!

Condemned? Have you ever felt condemned by God or others? Do you sometimes view God as mean and out to get you? Maybe a fresh look at John 3:16 and beyond will help with a better understanding of condemnation and God’s love for you.

Have you ever lost something that was precious to you and then found it? Do you remember the joy and excitement you experienced as a result? Are their things in your life that have been lost or need restoring? Examine Jesus’ interaction with a short, greedy little tax collector and see if you can’t find some hope and encouragement from their story

In the ‘consumer mentality’ world we live in, the desire to be served is great. Self-promotion and getting ahead are the norm in the workplace. So what are we to make of Jesus’ statement, “Whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first must be slave of all. For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.” Listen and see if together, with the help of some children, we can’t make some sense of this.

What is your image of Jesus? Is it one of a hippy, peace loving man with long hair or one of a strong man wielding a sword? Well, if it is hippy, peace loving Jesus you may want to listen to this.

Have you noticed that Jesus spent a good chunk of His time at parties? Read the Gospels, and its hard to miss. Weddings, banquets, dinner parties...you name it, Jesus was there. And it wasn't usually with the people you'd think. Thieves, cheats, and prostitutes all hung out with Him, considered Him their friend. Clearly Jesus was comfortable among the "sinners" of His day. Part of His mission was to be with them. Can we say the same thing today?

How do you define your Christianity? What does it mean to you? So often, we reduce following Jesus to a list of behaviors, a kind of "sin management" where we try to not do the bad things, and sprinkle a little of the good things in there. But that's not how Jesus defined faith. He didn't die so that we could be good people. He died so that we might know the love of God, and live to give that gift away.
